According to a press release issued by the Georgia Department of Corrections, the Dougherty County Superior Court has ordered the execution of Marcus Ray Johnson.

Commissioner Brian Owens has set the date for October 5, 2011 at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson, GA at 7:00 p.m.

Please join The Open Door Community and our allies against the death penalty for a vigil at the state capital on Wednesday, October 5 from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

1. The Clemency hearing will take place on Monday, September 19 at 9am. All the letters and petitions will be delivered next week to the Parole Board office on Thursday, September 15, 2011. There will be a press conference outside the Board of Pardons and Parole office at 10:30am. Please plan to attend.

Labor Day Feast on September 5th, 2011

Pray with us for our Labor Day Feast and for our friends who will join us. We have enough volunteers, but we need hamburger meat, a low mileage vehicle, and blue jeans and backpacks.

Also, please note that because of the Labor Day Feast, we will not serve on Tuesday September 6th. We will return to the Welcome Table on Wednesday.
